All-In Den
 | The All-In Den All-In Fighting... This is the phrase coined by Captain WE Fairbairn for his system of brutality that he developed in the Shanghai Police Dept. and refined into a combat CQC fighting system, taught to the Allied soldiers of WW2. It relied on open-handed strikes, low-lined kicks and a variety of throws and chokes to overpower and disable opponents in the heat of battle. | |
"Will this work so that I can use it instictively in vital combat against an opponent who is determined to prevent me from doing so, and who is striving to eliminate me by fair means or foul?" Lt. Col. Rex Applegate, Kill Or Get Killed This is the standard of any action or technique used within All-In Fighting. Will it stand up to the pressures and strains (both mental and physical) of an all-out confrontation agains the person or persons who wish your amped-up heart to beat no longer? Lt. Col. Applegate, himself a period expert of these combative arts, furthered the thought in his description of these techniques, and the "all-in" fighting framework as a whole. It is designed to be a collection of offenses and defenses which the smallest person can successfully perform against the largest-- daresay the weakest against the strongest. |
All-In Fighting... Gutterfighting... Appropriate terms for this fighting system known for its brutal effectiveness, ease of learning and length of retention. Its concepts, mindset and techniques have been studied and used by bodyguards, bouncers (doormen), policemen, soldiers and nearly anyone else who just want to go home safe every night-- right down to people like me, the author, who sits in safety during the day and just wants to protect himself and his own if push comes to chin-jab. This site is not meant to achieve what others do and do better. It isn't a learn-it-here site. Nor is it the thoughts of a gutterfigting-hero-master-expert. It's hoped that this site will become a collection of the information I, the humble author, have collected in my journey into WW2 combatives without a dedicated, full-time instructor. I hope to write and present articles, video and book reviews, concepts I've learned, principles I've been taught, some history gleaned from the writings of the true experts-- pretty much the useful stuff I gathered into a little pile in my brain from the outer edges of the internet, printed, and video media. Come along and let me know how it shapes up... |
